The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens to the public on September 22, and the scale of the project is impressive.
🏛️ The museum includes a 300,000-square-foot building with more than 100,000 square feet of gallery space across 30+ galleries.
🌳 It sits within a 13-acre campus with new public park space, gardens, an amphitheater, more than 300 newly planted trees, and outdoor sculptures.
🎞️ The property also includes two theaters, a research library, classrooms, a café, and Skywalker Grill, a full-service restaurant open beyond museum hours.
🏗️ Architecturally, the building is designed without a single straight line and uses more than 1,200 uniquely shaped exterior panels.
What stands out to me is how much of the project is about the experience outside the museum walls. The park, restaurant, public spaces, and architecture all work together to make the property a destination.
