📚 Colorado has opened what is being called the first public “nature library” in the U.S.
🏢 The Anythink Nature Library includes a 33,000-square-foot building on a 15-acre campus.
🥾 The property also connects to roughly 140 acres of protected open space through a trailhead.
🌿 Beyond traditional library services, the project includes gardens, trails, a café, art and science space, indoor and outdoor gathering areas, and outdoor recreation equipment available to borrow.
🧭 The concept is designed around more than just books, with the property itself becoming part of the public experience.
CRE Takeaway:
This is an interesting example of how civic real estate is evolving. The building is still important, but the surrounding land, amenities and overall experience are becoming a much bigger part of how public spaces are designed and used.
