I recently made the trip to Asheville for the North Carolina CCIM State Conference, and even got to drive through a few clouds on the way in.
It was a great chance to connect with CCIMs from across North Carolina and beyond, make some new connections, and catch up with brokers and colleagues I have worked with over the years.
One of my favorite parts was learning more about Asheville’s history and development. Our guide walked us through several downtown projects, including the old BB&T building, now Hotel Arras, and the story of a mall that was once proposed for downtown.
🏙️ Could you imagine tearing down all those buildings to put a mall right in the middle of downtown Asheville?
I also managed to get a little work done outside. Not a bad office view. One of the benefits of being able to work from just about anywhere.
We also heard some great presentations from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
Good people, good conversations, and a much better understanding of Asheville and how the city has evolved.
